Another summer has come and gone, and it’s back to school for the kiddos. Some are eager while others wish they could hold onto summer for just a few more weeks. We’ve rounded up our top fall and winter events to ease you and your family into the transition—PLUS get you excited!

TEXAS FOOTBALL

Football season is officially upon us, and we can’t contain our excitement. The first Longhorn football game is September 1st! Besides Matthew McConaughey sightings, we are pumped to pre-game at the new BEVO Boulevard. The festivities are free and open to the public and will feature a parade, happy hour drink pricing, food trucks, giant LED screens, and activities for all!

FANTASTIC FEST

Is there anything better than scary movies before Halloween? Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the U.S. specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world. It’s also produced by one of our favorites: Alamo Drafthouse! The program is set for September 20th–27th, 2018.

AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL

With two weekends to catch an amazing lineup, there’s no reason not to go to ACL Fest this year. The legendary Paul McCartney is headlining the festival, which is definitely going to be epic!

HOUSE OF TORMENT

Who doesn’t love a good scare? Last year, the House of Torment featured new attractions, like “The Possession,” and “Dark Carnival.” This year, House of Torment will be announcing all new attractions and dates. Stay tuned!

WURSTFEST

Wurstfest takes place just outside of Austin in New Braunfels. What started out as a small festival to honor sausage has turned into an incredible festival for attendees of all ages. This year, the fest will be November 2nd–11th.

A CHRISTMAS AFFAIR

The Junior League of Austin is hosting its 43rd annual A Christmas Affair, Joyeux Noël, on November 14th—19th at the Palmer Events Center. Shopping at this holiday market gives back directly to the community, so don’t be afraid to stop by!

TURKEY TROT

Gobble, gobble! Your favorite Thanksgiving run is back November 22nd. This year will mark the 28th year for the Turkey Trot. Grab your friends and family and get trottin’.

AUSTIN TRAIL OF LIGHTS

Dates for the 54th annual Austin Trail of Lights have been announced! With 14 nights in the iconic Zilker Park, 2018 will be one to remember. Here are a few date highlights:

December 1: Fun Run

December 8: Night Lights Preview Party

December 10: Grand Opening Celebration
