Heroes Night Info - Tuesday, Dec 11th

Join us as we honor veterans, active military, and first responders (police, fire, EMS) at our annual Heroes Night, presented by Texas Lottery, on Tuesday, December 11 from 7:00-10:00 pm at the Austin Trail of Lights. Heroes Night provides an extra special opportunity to recognize, honor and thank the hundreds and thousands of military, first responders, and veterans for their countless hours and dedication to our communities and nation. Guests will have the opportunity to write “letters to heroes” and join other activities to pay tribute to first responders’ service.

Wear your uniform or bring an ID showing military, veteran status, or first responder verification for you and your family to receive complimentary ZIP Fast Pass perks on December 11th beginning at 6:00 pm.

Regarding entry on our Heroes Night - Tuesday, December 11th, active military, veterans or first responders (police, fire, EMS) can simply wear a uniform, or present a military/veteran ID or badge to Trail staff at the ZIP Entrance for proper complimentary ZIP admission for them and accompanying family members beginning at 6:00 pm. An advance ticket is not required. The ZIP entrance is located on Barton Springs Road, just right of the Trail of Lights main entrance.

In order to honor the complimentary ZIP benefits, the Hero needs to be present and able to show a uniform or identification card or badge on Tuesday, December 11th. Please know that General Admission to the Trail is free this evening if your family would still like to attend and celebrate with us. Or perhaps you can enjoy the Trail with them on another free GA night (Dec 10-13, 17-19) if you are unable to attend on Heroes Night specifically, or we have ZIP tickets available for purchase Dec 12-23 nightly as well.

ZIP entry begins at 6:00 pm for our Heroes and family, and allows exclusive entry before the general public who being entering at 7:00 pm. If you cannot arrive by 6:00 pm, that is totally okay! ZIP entry goes until 10:00 pm and you can still take advantage of the ZIP Lounge with heated and comfortable seating, and complimentary cookies and cocoa for Heroes and their group.

Free ADA parking for our disabled Veterans on Heroes Night for one vehicle with accompanying state or federal issued credentials or an ADA plate or placard. Family members will still need to purchase a parking pass for additional vehicles as needed. We encourage you to purchase a parking pass in advance online as parking typically sells out and will not be sold onsite. Parking lots open at 5:30pm and the free Veteran parking is limited and first-come-first-served.
