Austin Trail of Lights Fun Run is around the corner!

Below is important information about Packet Pick-up, transportation to Zilker Park, and other helpful tips to plan your evening at the Fun Run!

PACKET PICK-UP

ALL Fun Runners MUST pick up their packets before their wave start time on Saturday, December 7th.

  • What's In The Packet? Fun Run packets include each participant's bib along with their t-shirt included with registration.
  • The Fun Run bib is required for participation at the event on Saturday, December 7th. You will not be able to access the starting line or Fun Run course without your bib, with the exception of babies and toddlers in strollers.
  • Packet Pick-Up Hours:
  • Thursday, December 5, 11 AM - 7 PM
  • Friday, December 6, 11 AM - 7 PM
  • Saturday, December 7, 9 AM - 2 PM

      Packet Pick-Up Location: Zilker Metropolitan Park (Southeast side of Barton Springs. Look for the white tent and signage. Temporary parking is available).

      Please bring a photo ID, along with either a printed version of your registration "ticket" from our partner, Eventbrite, or have it available on your mobile device.  We encourage you to come early to avoid lines, and ensure you receive everything you need in time for the fun on December 7th!

      VIP & Team Registrant Packet Pick-up  +

      VIP & Team Registrants (in teams of over 15) qualify for Early Packet-Pickup. Upon arrival at Packet Pick-Up, head over to your designated tables for expedited service!

      Can’t make it yourself during scheduled pick-up hours? A friend can pick up your Fun Run packet for you! Just give them a copy of your registration "ticket" either as a print out or on their mobile device for scanning verification by our registration and packet pick-up staff.

      PARKING

      • On December 7th, Fun Run event parking in Zilker Park is limited. Purchase a parking pass before they are sold out! 
      • This year, there are two options for parking, too! * Please note parking corresponds with Fun Run wave registration. Parking lots will open at at 5pm for Wave 1 and Wave 2 and 6:30pm for Wave 3 and Wave 4 on Saturday, December 7th.

      PARKING PASS Instructions  +

      Please print your parking pass and present to parking lot attendants upon arrival, then display on vehicle dashboard while parked. Be advised to the parking lot access time noted on your parking pass.

      When you arrive, road closures surrounding Zilker Park will be in effect. Please follow driving directions and map below for the best arrival route. Individual lot access is based on availability. You may be redirected to a different lot than expected. Please follow staff instructions and signage, and drive with caution.

      DIRECTIONS: All purchased parking must enter Zilker Park via the northbound MoPac feeder road. There is no access to parking via Lamar and Barton Springs road due to street closures starting at 4pm. * Please note parking corresponds with Fun Run wave registration. Parking lots will open at at 5pm for Wave 1 and Wave 2 and 6:30pm for Wave 3 and Wave 4 on Saturday, December 7th.

      From North and South MoPac:

      • Exit Barton Skyway (NOT 2244 Bee Caves Rd)
      • Follow signs and staff instructions to parking

      From Bee Caves Rd at MoPac:

      • Turn right (SOUTH) on MoPac Feeder
      • U-turn at Barton Skyway
      • Follow signs and staff instructions to parking

      Reminder to please print out your parking pass and present to parking lot attendants upon arrival, and then display on dash while parked. Please follow staff instructions and signage, and drive with caution.

      GETTING THERE

      Due to anticipated event traffic, please allow extra time to get to the Fun Run.

      DRIVING: Please note that Barton Springs Rd. at Zilker Park will be closed starting at 4:00pm. Either follow the specific directions on your parking pass or avoid these areas when driving the area on December 7th. Plan ahead to arrive early for your registered start time and expect traffic delays.

      RIDESHARE: The ride share pick-up / drop-off will be located near the Zilker Tree, adjacent to event parking. Drivers are aware of the street closures surrounding Zilker Park and will be instructed to use this designated drop off and pick up location.

      RIDE YOUR BIKE! Bike parking is set up near the entrance to the Start Line queue.

      START LINE

      All Fun Run participants must enter the Start Line queue on Barton Springs Road with the required Fun Run bib. The Start Line is located on the south side of Barton Springs Rd., next to the Zilker Holiday Tree. Follow signs and staff directions when you arrive onsite.

      • Know Your Start Times
      • Wave 1 is open from 6:00 – 6:15pm
      • Wave 2 is open from 6:30 – 6:45pm
      • Wave 3 is open from 7:00 – 7:15pm
      • Wave 4 is open from 7:30 – 8:15pm

      Finish Line Festival

      Finish Line Festival admission is included with your Fun Run registration. 

      If you have friends & family that would like to meet you at the Finish Line and participate in the fun festivities afterward, they are welcome to purchase a Finish Line Festival pass.

      Finish Line Festival only guests can enter beginning at 6:00 pm at the “Hospitality Entrance” near Stratford Drive & Lou Neff Road. Please present your mobile ticket or printed version to gate staff for scanning verification. *Note Finish Line Festival only tickets do not include access to the Fun Run course or general Trail of Lights viewing.
